MEET THE COACHES

Simon Mugava

Our Lead Coach is an international cricketer and accomplished off-spin all-rounder with professional experience across First-Class, List A and T20 formats. With over a decade of competitive cricket in the UK, he now brings elite performance standards, professional discipline and proven player-development methods into the academy environment. Simon brings a rare depth of experience to his coaching, having represented his country at the ICC Under-19 World Cup, competed in First-Class cricket with Mid West Rhinos, earned Zimbabwe A representation, and spent more than ten years performing at the highest level of England’s Premier League cricket. His UK playing career includes successful spells with Barnt Green CC, Neston CC, Cuckney CC, J&G Meakin CC and Nantwich CC, winning four Premier League titles. That level of real-world insight powers every training session he delivers. Alongside his professional playing career, Simon is a fully qualified ECB Core Coach, holds an Enhanced DBS, and has over 12 years of UK coaching experience. His approach focuses on safe, structured and highly effective player development, blending technical excellence with confidence-building and game intelligence. Every player benefits from coaching shaped by genuine elite-level understanding and modern performance methods.
